Information you provide directly

• Search queries you enter, such as a company name, wallet address, domain, email, or phone number
• Details you submit in a fraud report, including incident descriptions, dates, amounts, and any evidence you attach
• Account information if you register, such as your name and email address
• Messages you send us through the contact form

Information collected automatically

• Device and browser type, IP address, and approximate location
• Pages visited, time spent, and general usage patterns, collected to keep the service reliable and secure

2. How we use it

We use the information we collect to:

• Return search results and risk assessments for the entities you look up
• Review, verify, and act on fraud reports submitted to the platform
• Maintain and improve the accuracy of our risk-scoring system
• Communicate with you about your account, a report you've submitted, or a support request
• Detect and prevent abuse of the platform itself, including fraudulent report submissions
• Meet legal, regulatory, or law-enforcement obligations where applicable

3. Reports about others

When you submit a report, you may be providing information about a third party — a company, individual, wallet, or other entity you believe is connected to fraud. We review submitted reports before they affect a public risk score, and we accept correction or dispute requests from any entity that believes it has been listed in error. Submitting a report you know to be false is not permitted.

4. Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

• With partner consumer-protection organizations and, where legally required, law enforcement, to support fraud investigations
• With service providers who help us operate the platform (such as hosting and email delivery), under confidentiality obligations
• If required to comply with a legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Vigil Atlas, our users, or the public
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with continued protection under this policy

Public-facing entity reports (risk scores, categories, and summarized incident details) are, by design, visible to anyone searching the platform. We aim not to publish personal information about report submitters alongside a public listing.

5. Data retention

We retain report data for as long as it remains relevant to an entity's risk profile, and account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account information at any time; entity reports may be retained in de-identified form to preserve the integrity of the database, even after an associated account is deleted.

6. Your choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below — we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity first.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our systems — to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

Vigil Atlas is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. International transfers

Because fraud crosses borders, our database and infrastructure operate internationally. Information you provide may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, under safeguards appropriate to that transfer.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and where changes are significant, we'll provide additional notice.
